Umniah Umax vs. Orange ADSL

Umniah brought Wimax to Jordan through launching Umax, a wireless internet connection solution that will let you connect to the internet wherever you are as long as Umniah is covering that place, prices are the same but if you take into consideration, having the ability to connect from anywhere is a very big advantage, the only problem is the coverage, as far as I know Umniah is still falling behind.

The problem with ADSL is Jordan Telecom monthly fees, which is almost equal to the fees of the ADSL itself; the 128K from Orange costs 12JD’s (plus 16% tax) in addition to 9JD’s (again plus 16% tax), and even now with Uminah, which is not part of JT network, prices are the same, I mean why don’t Umniah offer the 128K for only 12++?

Anyway I haven’t tried the service yet, but I hope it’s something good.

Below is the campaign created by AdPro Jordan, I didn’t get the meaning of “Once again from Umniah” since this is a new service.

Commercializing the Elections in Jordan

Jordan Elections

In the past, elections candidates in Jordan used to promote themselves using very traditional tools like brochures and fabric banners, it was so simple with no special designs and advertising in the media, but this year things changed.

This year, candidates took their campaigns to a higher level by spending a lot of money on booking space in the media and compete with commercial advertisers; TV and radio, SMS broadcast, outdoor with wall-units, bus branding, bus stops and tunnels, prime locations in the daily newspapers, and more than that, online with Google AdSense and Facebook!

Some candidates enhanced images of their campaigns through creating logos and good photo shooting. It’s really amazing to see that things are improving, but the thing is if the candidates started to hire media buyers and art directors, then I believe it’s time they should hire copywriters to come up with different messages rather than the usual crap that they use.

To me if a candidate was so sincere and open I will definitely elect them; they can say: Elect me cause I’m handsome, or I won’t fool you, I just want to have this job in the Parliament cause the salary is good! Makes you feel honesty.

But the thing is, I don’t believe that those candidates are spending that amount of money just to serve people, I just don’t buy it, I believe it’s all about gaining a prestigious position in the community and a high-paid job, so come on guys stop the bullshit.

Persil | Ambient Advertising in Jordan

Persil | Ambient Advertising in Jordan

Not bad as a start for Ambient media in Jordan, this campaign for Persil is running in the street of Amman on Mupi signs, each sign is shaped to look like a Persil pack, I don’t know which agency is behind that, but it is interesting! I know it can be better, but as I said it’s good as a start.
