Last night I attended the Jordan Advertising Awards 2007 ceremony organized by MediaScope. The event was nice and well organized, expect of some technical problems at the venue; Hyatt Amman is a great hotel but some times they screw things with technical issues. Anyway the event was so exciting and full of energy, we kept screaming and cheering all night, it was fun!

The most awarded agency in the Press was Publicis Graphics (Press caters 77% of total advertising spends in Jordan which makes it the most important medium), in both TV & Radio Team Y&R was the most awarded agency while Mint Advertising swept majority of BTL awards. I was surprised to see Mint Advertising, Advize Grey and AGA Profess winning a lot of awards, they are relatively small-scale agencies but obviously with a great performance and creativity, congratulations to all winners!

Had to share it, I saw this ad yesterday in AlGhad newspaper with a silly mistake in the header. This ad costs more than 1,000 JD’s (it’s on the first page of the third section). For those who don’t speak Arabic there is a letter “q” that is being spelled in many different ways; ‘g’, ‘a’ and ‘k’ in addition to the original way, in this ad it was written as an ‘a’ but this is wrong since it should be written as an ‘q’ no matter how you are gonna say it.
