MidEast advertising | Creativity to hit recruitment ads in the Middle East
When it comes to advertising agencies, headhunting needs an overdose of creativity to amaze candidates and dazzle them. Advertising agencies are abandoning regular employment ads, but seem to be going too far in the opposite direction! It’s beginning to feel like a way of showing off!
Med K&K, a Dubai based advertising and marketing agency, introduced an extraordinary approach for an employment ad whereby they featured the members of the agency as ugly creatures warning candidates not to submit their applications if they have doubts of joining such “family”.
This ad is probably one of it kind in that respect! Instead of presenting a friendly and appealing environment, the ad suggested that the agency’s team were ‘monsters’. Surely, some candidate will fail to see the humor in this, and will think twice before working with unpleasant people!
A somewhat similar approach arrived from SYNTAX, a Jordan based designing house, but the concept instead was that the team was made of ‘rare species’, even ugly ones!
The added bonus was that the team members were drawn based on their personalities, which makes a candidate think what he/she would look like in a drawing alongside them.
The ad includes a call to action, urging candidates to draw themselves and join this rare species. These ads are the ‘tip of the iceberg’ as recruitment ads across the region get more interesting and daring. We’ve got many more examples already on mediaME’s Creative Gallery.
