Basel was Born in Jerusalem in 1979, he has prolifically contributed to the contemporary music of Palestine and the Arab World. Known for creatively fusing Arab and Western musical influences as far ranging as jazz, pop, reggae, and classical, Zayed has, since an early age, established himself as a powerful singer, an original composer, and a talented ‘oud player. The lyrics of the quartet’s songs are adapted from contemporary Palestinian poems and deal with universal experiences such as love, loss, pain, and politics.
