Emilia, the 84-year old grandmother announces to all her family that her niece has chosen her as godmother for her wedding, which is going to be celebrated 1.500 kilometres away. Emilia asks her family to accompany her in a caravan, for this long trip from Buenos Aires to Misiones. From this moment, the grandmother, her daughters, grandsons, great-grandsons, sons-in-law and friends live interesting experiences inside the rolling house.

The film narrates the memories of Esteban Leguizamón, a middle-aged man who, at the age of 18, took part in the war of Malvinas Islands. Since the suicide attempt of Vargas, one of his companions in the battle-field, Esteban is submerged by his war memories, not only by its horrors but also by the stories of friendship and companionship. After 20 years, Esteban decides to return to the Islands to recall his past and heal his wounds.

In this psychological thriller, Toledo is a handsome but deeply neurotic man in his mid-20s. Toledo, an architecture student, is dating Anna. One evening, he pops by her apartment unexpectedly to discover a middle-aged man – he has never seen before - hiding under her bed. Imagining the worst, Toledo obsessively follows the stranger for the rest of the night, eventually setting fire to his car and threatening his life. However, the explanations to the incident are not as obvious as they seem.

Javier tries to find comfort with his psychoanalyst, his friends, his dog and whatever would help overcome his distress.

The movie narrates the accident of the Boeing 737 of LIMPET that smashed, on August 31st 1999, against a terrace in the centre of Buenos Aires, killing 67 persons. Directed and led by an ex-pilot of the same company, the tape reveals a complex plot of complicities between the Air Force and the company, ignoring safety controls to obtain additional financial benefits. A prosecuting lawyer manages to clarify the reasons of the accident and to lead to penal judgment, setting the only precedent in the history of the commercial aviation.

Jordan events | It’s not a gun film screening

It’s not a gun, a documentary by Helena Cotinier and Pierre-Nicolas Durand will be screened on Wednesday 6th of June 2007 at 7:30 pm at Makan. The film is in Arabic and French with English subtitles.
