MTV Arabia fasts during Ramadan

MTV Arabia announced that it will join Muslims all over the world in celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan through pausing the music, and airing only cultural news programs and reality shows. It’s really interesting to see a popular music stations stop airing its main content for an entire month to share viewers the celebrations of an occasion. Moreover, the station will air the call to prayer during Maghreb.

According to the channel’s manager, Samer Al Marzouqi, - not me :D - the newest shows are Hogan Knows Best and Room 401, you can read more in their press release.

Hogan Knows Best: Follows wrestling super star Hulk Hogan in his lesser-known roles as husband and father. Hogan may be a titan in the ring, but his chances for success at home are less than certain as he deals with his wayward teenagers and strong-willed wife.

Room 401: Taking inspiration from ‘Scare Tactics’ and ‘Punk’D,’ ‘Room 401’ features normal people in spooky situations involving gruesome and creepy special FX.

  1. Ok, let’s just analyze this for a moment; if they stopped because they are ashamed from what their playing, then why they don’t stop it period! after all, what’s wrong in Ramadan is gonna still be wrong in other months, I really can’t stand this commercial-based hypocrisy.. see what I wrote about this subject along other Ramadan related issue in my last blog, it’s the same things every year in every Ramadan!
