Apple Stars in Wall-E Movie, a projected subtle product placement by Apple in Pixar’s new movie

I was reading an interesting article on AdAge about Pixar’s new movie “Wall-E”, I didn’t watch the movie yet but one can notice Apple’s subtle product placement in the movie, which could be the future of product placement.

The movie takes place in year 2700; the main characters are Wall-E, the pretty old curious robot who falls in love with Eve, the female modern high-tech robot. Now when you look at Eve you will feel that it’s an Apple thing, personally I feel that any white well-designed electronic device is by Apple, I even thought that Nintendo Wii was an Apple product.

According to the article, Apple’s products appeared few time only; an iPod, a one-buttoned mouse, even Mac’s startup tone can be heard during the movie… etc. But the main thing is that Apple managed to expose its look&feel into the movie.

The writer even talked about a possible link between Eve and the story of the apple tree, although the name of the robot, EVE, stands for: Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluated.

In Arabia we’ve seen some branded video clips for several singers like Nancy Ajram and Nawal Al-Zoughbi, either full sponsorship or various shots for products in the video clips, but this new approach is really amazing!

I’m looking forward to watching the movie to be able to judge better, but from the trailer I can feel Apple’s touch in the movie.
