The Highest & Lowest Temperatures Ever Recorded

When was the hottest day you’ve ever experienced? can you remember the day when you really wished the summer would come? I saw this interesting report on the Arabian Business talking about the highest and lowest recorded temperatures on the surface of the earth.

Couple of days ago it was reported that temperature exceeded the 52 ℃ in Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates, I guess it should be added to the list. I always thought the Mecca, Baghdad and Kuwait are the hottest cities in the world, but seems like there are few hotter.

The highest recorded temperatures:
57.7 ℃: El ‘Azizia is located in the north west of Libya, on September 13, 1922, a temperature of 57.7C (135.9F) was recorded. This is the hottest temperature ever recorded.

55 ℃: Ghadamis is located to the northwest of Libya, temperatures can easily hit the 55C (131F)

The lowest:
−89.2 ℃: The lowest temperature ever recorded on earth was −89.2C (−128.6F), it was recorded on July 21, 1983, by Vostok Station, a Russian research station located near the Southern Pole.

−73.2 ℃: Plateau Station is an inactive American research support base on the central Antarctic Plateau. the site is known for the world’s coldest measured average temperature for a month, recorded in July 1968, at −73.2C (−99.8F).
