Apple Middle East, represented by Arabian Business Machine, has invited 5 new advertising agencies to pitch for Apple’s ATL, BTL and media accounts. The pitching agencies are Tonic, Memac Ogilvy, Lowe MENA, Euro RSCG and BPG (Bates Pan Gulf), in addition to their current agency Intermarkets.
The cool thing is that agencies have been briefed through a video on an iPod Shuffle! Instead of papers and e-mails. The competing agencies should present their work by end of this month, wishing everyone good luck, but, personally, I can see Tonic winning the account, based on their advertising spirit, they are cool and smart, this is what Apple needs.
Apple Middle East has announced the launch of a new online store dedicated for students, teachers and staff at the educational sector in the United Arab Emirates. The store (shop.appleme.ae) offers a variety of Apple products at special prices, according to their press release, students and educational sector staff will get a 5% discount in addition to a 10% discount trough the Apple On-Campus program. It’s really interesting to find an online store where you can buy Apple’s computers, iPods, software, and accessories for good prices, can’t wait till this initiative expands across the Middle East.
