UAE tops Arab countries in Nation Branding Index, followed by Qatar, Oman & Saudi Arabia
This is a pretty interesting index issued by EastWest Communications, the index ranks countries and territories based on how they are perceived in leading international media. The ranking is based on analyzing five million mentions in 38 top news sources from around the world, between April 1 and June 30, 2008.
It seems like occupations, struggles and war give a bad image for countries, Afghanistan ranks last at 200, Iraq next to last at 199, Sudan 198, Palestine 193, Iran 192 and Lebanon 190.
The United Arab Emirates ranked sixth worldwide, followed by Qatar in the 7th place, Oman 38th, Saudi Arabia 43rd, Bahrain 75th, and Jordan 76th. Below is the full table of countries in the MENA region.
