Marketers what do you think?
A friend of mine, Enass A.Basit wanted to share this article with you all marketeers:
“Once upon a time I had a discussion with my X colleague Samer about marketing, skills, and we reached a conclusion that marketing at first sight is a science but it depends basically on skills and having money to spend!
Today I have read an article about marketing and recognized that too many small businesses fails in the first 2-5 years because of the Common sense marketing!
If the success of your small business relied on you flying your own plane, and you’d never done that before, would you climb in the pilot seat and trust in common sense to help you take off, navigate and land? Obviously not; You’d sign up with and expert flight right away “Quote: Charlei Cook”
Business owners typically think that its increasing awareness of their company in the key of their success forgetting that prospects want to know which of their problem that business solve or what is the benefits you can provide them & will drive them to buy from you?
Then, marketers let us DISCUSS, search and ask business owners to know if they really make marketing decisions based on common sense or they consult an experts!!
What do you think? ;)”

we need both way but its all depend on quailty however we are providing items or services or what ever .. first we need to understand that customers are clever and always they are looking for price and qauilty at the same time , then some of them ask for a refernces , ((no one want to be the first one)) , in our business we use both way as i said it depened on what we are providing , when we choose to have new items or to give new services we follow rules and spend on marketing , when we understand the customer and when customer trust that company name then experinces play here . no need to spend , its time to collect. even from different or new client.
i agree its a sience but also we should not forget the luck .

Thank you Mr. Pre seller for you comment, but let me disucss you in ” when we choose to have new items or to give new services we follow rules and spend on marketing”
first, are new at that businees? or running it for years & you know how to mareket it…
Where do you get that rules? is it your common sence? your experince in that felid? or you just consult a kinda agency to help you prenst your product/service at the best manner?
Also if that agency sugested a tool that is really not benefcial (from your point of view) would you say (I FEEL it wont work?) or you would only trust that agency
what is your limits?

well,
Business running since years but market keep changing , some itmes or service they are like fixed , you can call them that they are major . but yearly we born in new form with new items and service or what ever . we ask ourself what does the market need that we can provide it with full support . its not related in how many years .
we steal the rules , we copy other experinces , its hard but simply its the truth
we never creat or even went to consultant company in marketing , we depend on our self search .. we take care of weakness points of others .i think when we mixed between all and make wide search for local and national market, we reach to creat our own plan which it is not pure but it does work perfectly .
Trusted came with experince , its not about how do i feel , but we have limits for testing .

Well to me I believe in experience and research. The experience of both the marketer and the agency as well, most likely the agency knows what are the new tools in the market and what is the best way to deliver the message and to promote that product/service, but this should be based on the marketer’s knowledge and experience which should be backed-up with research.
Agencies are bastards mostly, they want the best for you but this is limited to what is good for them, you can depend on them but don’t trust them.

Ahh, an interesting question, isn’t it? Unfortunately, most people don’t see marketing as being like flying that plane. They tend to think, any idiot can do it. But, I’ve worked for many companies with many idiots who can NOT in fact do it. Marketing must be a well-rounded approach. You need the expertise of marketers with an understanding of tool sets, techniques, market share, market research methods, etc. However, you also need to be able to demonstrate value to the potential customer in an intimate way. This can only be achieved by someone who is IN the business and understands the pain points of the customer. So, as with most things in life, it takes two to tango.
And, let me just say that I wish someone would save me from well-intentioned salesmen who think they are marketers… Honestly, if you can’t create a success story that sounds, well, successful… don’t put marketing in your title :).

I agree with you MommaBean, its not just as simple as this. It consists of lots of elements that should be integrated together to get perfect results.

and that what i meant to say, im gald that we agree…
Marekting includes market reserch, deciding on products and prices , advertising promoting distributing and selling, and am sure that even if you are the owner of your business and has no marketing tools and backgounds you will fail to sell your products at the best manner
and its not that you or the agnecy who should decide, its all coming back to research and experince not anyone common sense
thankx guys for sharing me your thoughts

I work at a PR and Marketing Consultancy agency, so that means people hire us, pay us, to give them our advice and yet they struggle as if understand nothing..
We work as an intermediate between the Client and the other agencies, and we make the primary decisions in the matter of accepting and rejection, when we present something new and creative they would go “that is very nice but very creative” is there something called very creative??!! and if we present them with something already used they would go “its nice but it doesnt make us stand out..
I think creativity is still not understood by many especially by family companies.. the elder generation would think that they have managed all this time depending on their common sence they do not need to hire consultants..
