ITP terminates 15 magazines

AdNation reports that ITP Publishing Group, one of the largest publishing houses in the Middle East, announced the closure of 10 more magazines, increasing the total number of their terminated magazines to 15 since the end of 2008. 60 people lost their job at ITP, of course in addition to staff members who were laid off earlier.

The media sector in the Middle East is suffering because of the credit crunch just like most of industries around the world, AdNation also reported about job loses and media shut-downs in few other media houses such Arab Media Group and Motivate Publishing, among many others.

When a big publishing house shuts down 22% of its publications, it’s scary, and pretty alarming as well.
