Jordan advertising | Hello Orange, Goodbye JT, MobileCom & Wanadoo

Yesterday I came across this billboard and some mupis as part of Jordan Telecom’s re-branding campaign to Orange; I guess this might give the telecom group a fresh start, but I guess they will have to deal with being liaised with Israel, as many Jordanians believe that Orange is an Israeli brand while it is French.

What I didn’t understand is why JT group started to push for France Telecom’s logo, the “&”, couple of months ago if they are planning to re-brand the whole group to Orange, I guess it will remain as the corporate logo.

  2. Well there is an Israeli mobile operator called Orange, but as far as I know it is not related to this one, or could be franchising. But here we are talking about France Telecom, I guess.

  7. Hello folks, here’s a little i know about the brand Orange. This brand is one of the most innovative and defined brand i have come across, Orange was established back in 1994 in the UK to become the 4th GSM provider in a cluttered market. So, the Orange mother company “Honk Kong based Hutchison Telecommunications” decided to raise the bar and create a new experience in telecommunication. Thumbs up to WCRS London, the agency behind the breakthrough launch they have done for Orange.

The idea featured a baby in the water, moving freely, smiling and bright blue eyes. supported with scripted performed in deep voice “Laugh. Talk. We do it every day. But should we really let the way we communicate rule our lives? From today we take control. No one will be tied down by time or place. And the skies will begin to clear as we enter a wire-free future. The future’s bright. The future’s Orange.”

The campaign did miracles. Campaign Magazine wrote an entire article about the campaign titled “How advertising transformed a company called Hutchison Microtel from 4th entrant in a small, tainted market, to 1st in a booming market as a brand called Orange worth almost US$40bn.”

Then was sold to the French Winers ;).. good luck France Telecom.

  8. man, do you have any idea who rebranded JT to orange, agency?
