Disappointed by Grapheast Photography Competition results

Grapheast Jordan has concluded its first photography competition for non-professional photographers, results were announced yesterday following to a full-day event that featured few presentations about design software, but results were really disappointing for many people. The funny part is non of winners were there to collect their awards.

After I saw the shortlisted photos I was like wow! These are really amazing, and I became sure that no way I’m going to win, but hey, does this photo below deserve to win the first place? They claimed it features some snow on a car, huh? Frankly I thought it was some kid trying to find his way through Microsoft Paint or something, no offense to the guy who took, but come on!

I do understand that Art, and photography are pretty subjective. But what is it that we’re looking at exactly?

  3. I liked your entry much better. Maybe I am biased :).

This looks like a huge submerged airplane next to an ice flow. Or maybe an armored-clad sea elephant breaking through the ice.

  4. What a shame. This picture is soooo random and weak. Oh well.
